Further Questions of Female Suffrage

Arthur finds Sadie arguing with Pearson at Clemens Point. Tired of being kept in camp to cook, Sadie says she worked alongside her husband on their ranch and can hunt and shoot as well as the men. Arthur offers to take her to Rhodes for supplies, and Pearson hands him a letter for his aunt Cathy to post. On the wagon ride through Scarlett Meadows, Sadie reads the letter aloud in a mocking imitation of Pearson, making Arthur laugh.

In Rhodes, Sadie talks about robbing the general store, but Arthur insists they are there only for supplies. She goes inside while he posts Pearson's letter at the post office. Arthur returns to find Sadie in new clothes, arguing with the clerk as he loads the wagon. On the road back, she speaks of losing her home and possessions, and of playing the harmonica. Arthur offers to find her another one, but Sadie asks only to be treated like everyone else.

Lemoyne Raiders stop the wagon and demand that Arthur and Sadie halt. Sadie shoots one of the men and drives down another before more Raiders attack. Arthur and Sadie fight them off, then climb back onto the wagon. Arthur decides Dutch does not need to hear about the encounter. Back at Clemens Point, they help Pearson unload the supplies. Sadie thanks Arthur for taking her out, and he says he would gladly ride with her again.
