Pipe Bomb

The Pipe Bomb is a Thrown improvised explosive device in Grand Theft Auto Online. It is built from a short cylindrical pipe containing explosive material, with a wire and switch joining one end to its cap. Its brighter finish distinguishes this version from the earlier Pipe Bomb seen in The Lost and Damned. It is a throwable weapon rather than a firearm, with listed damage of 85, fire rate of 10, accuracy of 35 and range of 15.

Ammu-Nation sells Pipe Bombs for $700. The weapon is designed for rapid throws, allowing it to be released faster than a conventional Grenade. Once it strikes a surface, it detonates about half a second later. That quick fuse makes it suited to Drive-Bys and throws made over longer distances, where an explosive that waits on the ground would give targets more time to move away.

Its explosion covers a smaller area than a Grenade or Sticky Bomb, and damage falls off near the outside of the blast, so people and vehicles at the edge can survive. The Pipe Bomb leaves a patch of fire after detonation. This permits its use as a fire trap, although the burning area is smaller than the one left by a Molotov Cocktail.
