Newspaper

Newspaper is a Thrown weapon item added with the A Safehouse in the Hills update. It takes the form of a bundle based directly on the throwable Acid Package, but the wrapping is a Los Santos Meteor newspaper. Its HUD icon also matches that earlier item. The weapon is classified as a Newspaper, rather than as an Acid Package, and is carried as a single throwable item.

The item is made for throwing, with a fire rate stat of 100 and an accuracy stat of 10. It has a clip size of one. Its damage and range stats are both zero, placing it among the least harmful thrown items. In use, it behaves much like Snowballs, Flares and Chop's Ball, acting as a lightweight projectile rather than a weapon intended to hurt targets.

Newspaper has a dedicated role in the Paper Route oddjob. It is used to deliver copies of the Los Santos Meteor around town, turning its throw into the method of making each delivery. Outside that activity, its design and behaviour remain those of a low-impact throwable item.
