Snowball Launcher

The Snowball Launcher is a Vom Feuer Heavy weapon in Grand Theft Auto Online, added with the continuation of The Chop Shop update. It is a festive reworking of the Vom Feuer Compact Grenade Launcher, itself based on the sawed-off "Pirate Gun" variant, and fires snowballs rather than explosive grenades. Its festive tint carries the serial number "HOHOHO". Players who log in between December 21 and December 27, 2023 receive it free of charge.

Snowball Launcher rounds behave much like thrown Snowballs. They can knock pedestrians down, leave snow splattered over vehicles and may make drivers abandon their cars, but they are far less lethal than thrown Snowballs. They also do not damage vehicle headlights or windows on impact. Its listed range is high, yet the slow launch speed leaves it with a short practical range. It cannot be used for drive-by shooting.

Each shot is replaced automatically after two and a half seconds, without a conventional reload. A progress bar appears in the upper-right corner during this cooldown, as with the Stun Gun, and changing weapons does not bypass it. The launcher has unlimited ammunition while snowy Festive Surprise weather is active. At other times it holds 20 rounds that cannot be replenished. Firing it in public does not alarm pedestrians, although police nearby can issue a wanted level, with three stars for firing at officers.
