Double Bit Hatchet

The Double Bit Hatchet is a unique melee weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2. It is a rare throwing hatchet with a rusty double-edged head, although it appears fairly new. One edge is sharpened for cutting and chopping, while the other is blunt and intended for splitting wood. The weapon cannot be customized.

It is lodged in a tree stump northwest of Wallace Station, in Big Valley. The stump lies near the station, and the hatchet is collected there rather than bought from a vendor or awarded by another character. Its placement makes it one of the unique hatchets that can be discovered in the world.

Despite its unusual double-bit design, the Double Bit Hatchet functions like the regular hatchet. It can be used in close combat or thrown at targets from a distance. Like other unique hatchets, it does not return automatically after being thrown or dropped, so it remains where it lands until it is retrieved.
