Cleaver

The Cleaver is a melee weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online. It is a broad-bladed axe with a short, ridged wooden handle, based on the sort of tool used in hunting and cooking to break down animal carcasses. Its blade is suited to cutting through thick meat, cartilage and bone. It cannot be customized.

Fences sell the Cleaver for $8. During Epilogue, Part 1, it can also be collected at Hanging Dog Ranch in "Jim Milton Rides, Again?". It lies inside the ranch house on the first floor, by the banister near the stairs and the cupboard.

Although made for preparing carcasses, the Cleaver works as a combat weapon. Its heavy blade makes it useful in close quarters against people, and it can be thrown. A thrown Cleaver can be used to kill an enemy quietly, giving it a stealth use beyond ordinary hand-to-hand attacks.
