Hatchet

The Hatchet is a basic hand axe in the Melee class, priced at $4.25. Its wedged steel blade is set on a long wooden handle, giving it the appearance and purpose of a wood-chopping tool. It cannot be customized.

Built for chopping wood, the Hatchet is a powerful one-handed weapon that delivers heavy damage when swung at an opponent. It can also be thrown, allowing it to bring down a target at a distance when close combat is not possible.

The Hatchet is sold by Fences after the story has reached the required point. A thrown Hatchet does not return to the Weapons Wheel automatically after it lands, so it must be recovered from the ground or from its target to avoid losing it.
