Player notes

Franklin arrives at his house in Strawberry as Lamar Davis approaches with Stretch, newly released from prison. Lamar reintroduces them, but Franklin's unease with Stretch quickly becomes an argument. Lamar cuts it short, saying they have business to handle. The three men drive to Ammu-Nation, where Franklin buys a Pump Shotgun and flashlight attachment, then leave for a meeting at Rogers Salvage & Scrap in La Puerta. On the way, Lamar explains that they are going to a drug deal, and Franklin remains wary of it.

At the recycling plant, Franklin, Lamar and Stretch meet D, the man Franklin and Lamar abducted during Chop. The meeting is a trap. Ballas gang members close in as D reveals the deal is revenge for his kidnapping. Stretch responds by shooting D dead. Franklin joins Lamar and Stretch in a gunfight through the plant as Ballas attack from the upper levels, corridors and exits. The shooting sets parts of the building ablaze, forcing the trio to continue toward the way out.

Outside, the LSPD has surrounded the junkyard and a police helicopter blocks their escape. Franklin shoots down the helicopter, then follows Lamar and Stretch across the yard and over the perimeter wall. They take a vehicle and flee La Puerta while police pursue them. After losing the LSPD, Franklin drives Lamar and Stretch back to his house in Strawberry. The three men part ways there.

Trivia

  • โ—†Various audio entries for this mission refer to the mission as Terminador.
  • โ—†Franklin will always put on a jacket with jeans and shoes in this mission.
  • โ—†If Franklin still maintains the same hairstyle from an earlier mission, Lamar and Stretch will comment on it, saying that his hairstyle makes him look like a microphone, to which Franklin responds negatively.
  • โ—†The events of Chop are referenced by Franklin during the cutscene where the three met up with D.
  • โ—†Scenes from this mission first appeared in the second GTA V trailer, and later in Franklin's character trailer.
  • โ—†In Franklin's trailer, Lamar originally wore his green cap backwards, and his T-shirt had the logo of the Magnetics car club on it.
  • โ—†Upon entering Ammu-Nation, Lamar will tell Franklin to "Get the shotty with the flashlight on it." If Franklin already has a shotgun, Lamar will instead say "Get your shotgun with the flashlight modification." If Franklin has a shotgun and has installed the flashlight prior to the mission, Lamar will simply say "Get some heat."
  • โ—†If this mission is replayed, the flashlight will always be attached to Franklin's shotgun, even if it was removed later. If the flashlight was purchased beforehand or if the mission is replayed, it will be impossible to remove it from Franklin's shotgun.
  • โ—†When Stretch shoots D, his pistol has a more realistic firing sound.
  • โ—†During the warehouse shootout, the time of day will be fixed to midnight, and won't advance until Franklin, Lamar, and Stretch exit the building and jump over the fence. If the player reloads during the shootout, the selected save file's time of day will be fixed to whatever it was at the time.
  • โ—†After losing the cops, the radio station will be tuned in to West Coast Classics, and the track "Still D.R.E." by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will always play.
  • โ—†In the Enhanced Edition, Lamar and Stretch can be seen driving away after the mission ends. If the player shoots the car, Stretch will step out and open fire at him. However, the player cannot shoot Stretch.
  • โ—†If the player takes Lamar's Emperor as a getaway car and abandons the Jackal, the Jackal will still appear near Franklin's house at the end of the mission, and Stretch and Lamar will drive away in this car. However, the Emperor will be still parked in the driveway, and can be stored in the player's garage. Alternatively, if the player uses the Jackal, there is a chance that the Emperor may be retrieved from the impound garage at Mission Row Police Station for $250.
  • โ—†If this mission is done after Franklin gets his second house, he will still enter his old house as if he still lived there. Strangely, sometimes in the opening cutscene, his room will still have his belongings, but as soon as the scene ends, it will be empty. Thus, canonically, this mission happens before Franklin obtains his second house.
  • โ—†After this mission, the Ammu-Nation clerk will become interested in Franklin, which starts a conversation between both of them if Franklin visits the store.
  • โ—†According to Shawn Fonteno, an earlier version of this mission had Franklin shooting D instead of Stretch.
  • โ—†According to the game files, D was supposed to be a police informant involved in a gang-intervention show, and the enemy Ballas in the beginning were originally NOOSE units. The player would then have to fight through both them and the Ballas โ€“ the latter also being set up by D โ€“ to escape. Remnants of this can still be heard in D's dialogue.
