Mallard

The Western Company Mallard is a single-seat piston monoplane in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. Its compact airframe has a wide propeller nose, a sliding canopy and mid-mounted wings, with a tailwheel under the rear. The stripped-down cockpit carries a small instrument panel. Its design combines influences from several real-world aircraft, and it resembles the Stuntplane from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, though the Mallard has a longer wingspan and is a monoplane rather than a biplane.

A single piston engine gives the Mallard strong acceleration and a high top speed for its type. Its light construction makes it agile in the air and suited to aerobatic manoeuvres, including the Under the Bridge and Knife Flights challenges. It is less forgiving on the ground. The wheel spats can strike small obstacles or scrape uneven surfaces while landing, taxiing or reversing.

Elitás Travel sells the Mallard for $250,000 in both games. In Grand Theft Auto V, it can sometimes be seen landing at Sandy Shores Airfield, and Michael can obtain one through an air flyer job for the cinemas. Flight School uses it for several challenges. Special and Collector's Edition owners find one at Sandy Shores Airfield, where entering it starts Stunt Plane Time Trials. In Grand Theft Auto Online, it commonly appears at Sandy Shores Airfield and McKenzie Field Hangar.
