Surfer

The BF Surfer is a two-seat, four-door recreational van in the Vans class. Its rounded body, split windscreen, chrome details and rear-mounted engine evoke the Volkswagen T1, while its centre section and rear treatment also draw from the Volkswagen T2. It can appear with a roof rack, sometimes carrying a surfboard. The front stripes, side stripes, cabin area, door hinges and engine bay use the primary paint colour, while the body uses the secondary colour.

In Grand Theft Auto V, Surfers can appear beside a road in Blaine County with a Radius. A uniquely coloured example is abandoned on Smoke Tree Road near Sandy Shores Airfield during the abandoned vehicle Random Event, where an unknown man attacks the approaching protagonist with a Stun Gun. A clean Surfer can also appear at the beach party beneath the first bridge north of Fort Zancudo. In Grand Theft Auto Online, it is sold by Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $11,000 and appears around Del Perro, Chumash and North Chumash.

The Surfer has a small rear engine driving the rear wheels through a four-speed gearbox. It accelerates reasonably for its size, but its low overall speed and average handling leave it sluggish beside other vans. It also absorbs heavy collisions poorly and has difficulty avoiding traffic during pursuits. Its engine note is shared with the Injection and Dune Buggy, though the Surfer does not rev as high. It appears in road traffic and as an abandoned vehicle during the Random Event.
