About this vehicle
The Trailer is a twin axle car carrier trailer in the Utility class, built around a dark grey double deck frame. Its ramps can hold as many as six vehicles, with three positions on each level. Front landing stands support it when detached, while side guards, a rear rail and circular truck style tail lights protect the chassis. It appears in traffic either empty or carrying cars.
It cannot move under its own power and must be pulled by a Barracks Semi, Docktug, Hauler, Packer or Phantom, along with their applicable custom and specialised variants. It is heavier than most trailers, though lighter than an Army Trailer, and its weight does not change when cars occupy its decks. Loaded vehicles are secured and normally inaccessible, although the rear hatch can be opened from the side and remains open.
Car carrier Trailers are seen behind tractor trailers on the highways around Paleto Bay. A mission only version, tr4, appears in Pack Man as the transporter for Devin Weston's stolen cars. In Grand Theft Auto Online, a standard Trailer appears during the Nightclub Resident DJ mission "Tale Of Us", where it carries the Stafford that is taken from the carrier.
Trivia
- ◆As seen in Pack Man, the tr4 also contains a red Stinger, which was not seen in the car theft mission strands prior to "Pack Man". Either the Stinger was stolen by Lamar after he joined the team (after Deep Inside) or was supposed to be featured in a mission that was cut from the game.
- ◆Interestingly, on the tr4 variant, the headlights and tail lights of the car props are programmed to work as marker lights. Thus, the player can notice the car's lights being on when the trailer is attached to the semi truck, especially during night time.
