The Antique Cavalry Dagger is a melee blade added to Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online with The "I'm Not a Hipster" Update. Also called the Retro Dagger, it is a small, old-fashioned dagger with a handguard at the handle. Its design appears to draw from a Civil War cavalry dagger, with details that give it a vintage, possibly European character.
It is slightly stronger than the Knife and can kill most NPCs in a single strike. The weapon is intended for close-range attacks, with limited reach, and it can also be equipped and used underwater, like the Knife and Knuckle Dusters.
In the original version of Grand Theft Auto V, it is added automatically to the player's weapon cache. In the enhanced version, Ammu-Nation sells it for $2,000 after "Mr. Philips". It is also sold at Ammu-Nation in Grand Theft Auto Online for $2,000, while a free example lies deep inside the Abandoned Mine in Great Chaparral.
Trivia
- ◆The weapon bears a resemblance to the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories rendition of the Knife.
- ◆The original HUD icon shows that the Dagger is more squared with a narrow edge and the central blade line starts on the handguard. However, the in-game Dagger is slighty curved to the end, and the blade line starts from some sort of marks next to the same handguard. The enhanced HUD icon, however, features a more correctly modeled version, but lacking the details on the handguard.
