Baseball Bat

The Baseball Bat is a Melee weapon, also called the Bat. In Grand Theft Auto V it is an aluminium bat marked with "G.E.S.", "XL", a Ballas "B" and the Western States Baseball League logo. It costs $5. Its listed damage is 20, with a fire rate of 10 and a range of 1. Franklin and Trevor are depicted with wooden bats in promotional artwork, but the in-game weapon is aluminium.

It is among the strongest melee weapons in the game, matching the Golf Club and Pool Cue statistically. The Bat is cumbersome compared with faster close combat weapons, yet it can kill an enemy with a blow to the head. It is used for direct melee attacks, delivering heavy swings at close range rather than rapid strikes or ranged fire.

Bats are found across Los Santos and Blaine County. One lies in the storeroom of the discount store beside Ammu-Nation on Route 68. Another is at the Altruist Cult camp during Trevor's optional side mission, on the rock behind which he ducks after the cutscene. Further examples are in the BMX park behind the bleachers in Northern Los Santos and on the second floor of a house under construction in Rockford Hills, northeast of the golf course.
