Golf Club

The Golf Club is a Melee weapon in the Club type, modelled on a piece of golfing equipment. Its GTA V version keeps the general form used by the earlier 3D Universe games, though the striking edge is squarer. It carries a damage value of 20, a fire rate of 10 and a range value of 1. Despite its sporting origin, it is used as a close combat weapon.

It is not among the quickest melee weapons in ordinary combat, since the Knife strikes faster. While running, however, the Golf Club is the fastest weapon to land a melee hit. When two opponents run at each other to attack, the person carrying the club generally connects first. This makes it suited to closing distance during a running melee exchange.

In GTA V, a round of golf at Los Santos Golf Club in Richman grants the protagonist a Golf Club. It can also be obtained behind the club by frightening a golfer until the golfer drops it. In GTA Online, golfers at Los Santos Golf Club can drop the weapon when scared or killed. It also appears in player-created Deathmatches, Captures and LTS, in a shack on an island in North Chumash, and after the mission On Course.
