Pistol

The Pistol is a Hawk & Little semi-automatic handgun, also called the Handgun or 9mm. It uses 9mm and .45 ammunition and has a stated capacity of 17 rounds. In Grand Theft Auto V, its design closely follows the Taurus PT92, while its slide has features resembling a Colt M1911. The enhanced version changes its grip from black to brown.

It is available from the beginning and costs $600 at every Ammu-Nation. Franklin obtains one during "Repossession". Michael has one after "Complications", while Trevor carries one by default during "Mr. Philips". In "Friends Reunited", Wade Hebert supplies Trevor with a suppressed Pistol before the attack on Los Santos.

The Pistol is a low-recoil sidearm with moderate damage, fire rate, accuracy and range. Repeated trigger pulls raise its practical rate of fire. It works as an all-purpose weapon in the earlier parts of the game, though Assault Rifles and Carbine Rifles surpass it in combat. Police Officers carry it as their standard service weapon, and street criminals and gang members also use it.
