Stone Hatchet

The Stone Hatchet is a hidden, unlockable melee hatchet in Grand Theft Auto Online, added with the After Hours update and made available when its event begins on August 3, 2018. It resembles a traditionally made stone axe: a stone head is fastened to a wooden shaft, while leather and feathers wrap the handle. Its appearance makes it the game's oldest-looking weapon, though it may be a historical reproduction.

Maude Eccles starts the unlock process by sending a text message, followed by an email. Completing the five Bounty Target missions unlocks the Stone Hatchet. It is not obtained from a shop. In modes other than Free Mode, including Survival, it functions only as an alternate visual version of the other axes.

Its speed and reach match comparable melee weapons, especially the Hatchet and Battle Axe, but it inflicts more damage than any other melee weapon. Like the other axes, it can be used from a bike. A kill on a player or NPC in Free Mode activates Stone Hatchet Rampage, making its wielder nearly invulnerable for 12 seconds. Further hatchet kills extend the effect. Changing weapons ends Rampage immediately, and after it expires, a 60-second wait follows before it can activate again.
