Police Rancher

The Declasse Police Rancher is a four-door Emergency SUV and the law enforcement version of the Rancher XL. It belongs to the North Yankton State Patrol, retaining the civilian model's body and features while receiving a white State Patrol livery. Gold and blue side stripes, front-fender "STATE PATROL" text, door emblems and "Trooper of the year 1951" markings identify it as an NYSP vehicle.

Snow covers its upper bodywork, bumpers and windows. The roof carries two antennas and a square lightbar containing six rotating halogen emergency lights. It uses snowy Rancher XL-style wheels, derived from Raider off-road rims, with tire chains fitted. The chains do not alter its grip. Like the snowy Rancher XL, it lacks a rear-window defroster and has a rear-compartment handle absent from the standard model.

The Police Rancher is generally unavailable for acquisition. In 2004, the North Yankton State Patrol uses it alongside Police Roadcruisers. Its mechanical layout largely matches the Rancher XL, with an inline-four engine, five-speed transmission and all-wheel drive biased 30-70 from front to rear, though its engine note resembles SUVs such as the Granger and Baller. It combines off-road ability with unexpectedly nimble handling for its class.
