Combat MG

The Combat MG is a fully automatic machine gun, classified as both a light machine gun and a general purpose machine gun. Previously called the M249 and Advanced MG, its Grand Theft Auto V model draws on a larger calibre derivative of the M249. It combines an M249 adaptor and very short barrel with a fictional handguard and a distinctive stock. Rather than a folding bipod, it has Picatinny rails for attachments.

Ammu-Nation stocks the Combat MG for $7,550 after Blitz Play. Another can be recovered at the Merryweather Security Cargo Plane crash site in the Alamo Sea after Minor Turbulence. The protagonists carry it in several heists: Michael De Santa uses one in Blitz Play and The Paleto Score, Trevor Philips carries it in The Paleto Score, and Franklin Clinton has one in The Merryweather Heist's offshore approach and The Big Score's obvious approach. Trevor also uses it during The Third Way.

With damage rated at 32, a fire rate of 65, accuracy of 45, range of 60 and a 70-round clip, the Combat MG is a broad-purpose automatic weapon. It outperforms SMGs, the Assault Rifle and the MG in general use, while firing farther than the Carbine Rifle at the cost of accuracy. Its recoil is lighter than the MG's, though its handling slows reloading and limits mobility. It can be fired by passengers in spacious vehicles, but its hip-fire rate is lower and it cannot take a suppressor.
